Thank you for putting this website together. It's fun to see what Yancey lines other people are working on. I would love to get back to my immigrant Yancey ancestor. The rumor is that they came from Wales. Though my DNA shows no Welsh ancestors. it's still early though. They may still appear in Wales.

I was trying to check on the DNA results in case there were any updates on the male lines from Charles and couldn't find it.
Has anyone considered the place names in France as possible name sources. Since many Huguenots went to England and Wales and scattered into Protestant societies, I noticed on a map the French town of Nancy was an area of Huguenots. There is another name I've seen on one map, but now haven't found it again.
Something to think about at any rate.

I didn't know about this site.i had no clue about more family. The origins. Thank you.

My grandpa is Howard Yancey Sr. My adopted dad is his youngest son Wayne Yancey. He's married to Frances Clare Yancey (Bulley). I have a adopted brother Paul Yancey.

My origins are Native American. Siksika, AB. My adopted name is Brenna Clare Yancey. My name I go by is Terrylene Rhea Yancey. DOB 1/31/79. I have 7 children ages 3-26.

I have older pictures of my grandparents. My dad's older brother Howard looks to be in contact. He doesn't like me. If you want some pictures I can forward it. My parents live in Covington, WA.

My grandpa Yancey was very interested in his genealogy. The rest of the family don't really keep in touch with me. My adopted mother told them I am mentally ill. I speak with my father. I was in addictions. Identity issues. Then found out my birth mother didn't know I was being adopted. My parents didn't know.

I am a Humanitarian. Training on opioid crisis. Reiki training. Promoting change for people. Raising my youngest son with his father. Prior, I worked in healthcare. I have a Masters degree in Accountancy. I changed my direction because of the ongoing issues in this world. I've been part of many systems : child welfare, cultural genocide (3 Generations), rape, abuse (childhood & spousal), jail, homeless and addictions.

My name is my birth name. I don't really care if I am included but I scanned a lot of pictures years ago.

Are you a Yancey descendant?

Yes

If so - tell me a little about your Yancey Family

My earliest ancestor, I think is Charles Yancey. My first ancestor to move to Georgia--in early 1833--is James Yancey. He is my great-great grandfather. He is buried in the Old Elam Church Cemetery in Forest Park, GA. Several years ago I replaced his and his wife's head stones with single headstone. I took the two badly deteriorated stones back to my house and stored in a utility shed in my back yard. I maintain two cemeteries in Georgia that contain Yancey graves.
