City/State where you live?

Jacksonville, Florida

Are you a Yancey descendant?

Yes, on both sides of my great-grandparents

If so - tell me a little about your Yancey Family

We have talked by way of email in the past and I even did some data collecting for you, but at that time I knew my great-grandmother was a Yancey but could not ID her parents. I have now done so and also found that my great-grandfather's mother was a Yancey.
I would like to send you a file that shows the Yancey line they both are related to, so you can let me know what you think.

My Great Grandfather William Harry Horton was born to Louisa Yancey, daughter of William Ramsey Yancey of Daphne, AL in 1880. I would love to hear from others about William and the fate of Louisa, cannot find a trace of her after 1880 census with infant son Wm Harry. Wm Ramsey is a mystery!
anyone else from Alabana, Daphne/Mobile area?

If anyone has any iinfo on these people, we would be delighted. My gg grandfather was Abner Ward and married a Judith (Julia or Juda) Yancey in Oglethorpe Georgia on 17 July 1822 in Oglethorpe Georgia. He was born in 1887 supposedly in Henrico, Virginia and she supposedly in 1796 in Greene, Georgia, United States. We have found their marriage records but no birth and death records, only family hearsay and we can find Abner's records for 1850 ad 1860 showing all 12 children. Judith died 25 Nov 1855. We cannot find other info on these people other than a land grant in 1820 and land sale in 1857. Someone has her father as Richard but he would have been almost 100 when she was born. there has got to be another generation. Any ideas????
